Based of this text, what qualifies God to keep these promises? (theologically?)
In order to trust the promises of God, we have to believe in two things. 1 -- His ability to keep His promises (His Power). 2 -- His desire to keep His promises (His heart).

What does this passage say about God’s character? How does that contrast with what the world teaches? How does this affect our prayers?

Ex: The scripture says God is everlasting. The world teaches that God is limited. I often pray to God like He is limited.
