The Church is Born
Opener (if needed): What is one of your favorite memories playing with your friends when you were a kid?
Keep it lighthearted and fun.
Read the Scripture: Acts 1:8, 2:1-4
Reflect on the sermon. Is there anything that stood out to you? How are you encouraged or convicted?
Why does it matter that the Holy Spirit is God, and how might you explain his role?
Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
What do people receive and experience when they are filled with the Holy Spirit?
Acts 2:3-4, “And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[a] on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
How do you experience the presence of God?
Acts 2:1-2, “When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.”
