Opener: Can you share a time when you had to conquer a fear?

Read the Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:6-7; 1 Timothy 2:1-8
Reflect on the sermon. Is there anything that stood out to you? How are you encouraged or convicted?
Why does Paul note power, love, and sound mindedness as key gifts of the Spirit?
What about these three elements is so distinct to the nature of God and the Christian life?
2 Timothy 2:6, “ For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
Where in your life do you see these key elements breaking down your fear?
2 Timothy 1:7, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
Can you recount other figures in the Scripture or people in history who showed great faith over fear in a time of trouble?
