Opener (if needed): What is one of your favorite prizes you have ever won?

  • Keep it lighthearted and fun.

Read the Scripture: 1 Peter 5:1-5

  • Reflect on the sermon. Is there anything that stood out to you? How are you encouraged or convicted?

What does it mean to worship God as He truly is? How should we approach him? Are there Scriptures that guide your thought?

  • 1 Peter 5:6-7, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

How do you see and feel God restoring, confirming, strengthening, and establishing you?

  • 1 Peter 5:10, “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

In what ways do you or might you use hope for the future as a daily discipline?

  • 1 Peter 5:11, “To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
