The Church Together

Tanner Heath   -

Opener (if needed): Can you think about a time in your life when you were very devoted to something? What was it, and how would you describe your devotion?

  • Keep it lighthearted and fun.

Read the Scripture: Acts 2:42-47

  • Reflect on the sermon. Is there anything that stood out to you? How are you encouraged or convicted?

In what ways do you think this passage is descriptive and in what ways is it prescriptive?

  • Acts 2:42, “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

What is unique about the devotion found in Christian community?

  • Acts 2:44-46, “And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts”

What are things that you see as an obligation? How can you see it as an opportunity?

  • Acts 2:47, “praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
