The Promises of God: Isaiah 40:27-31

Tanner Heath   -

Have you ever made a promise you did not intend to keep?

What is the impact of a broken promise?

  • On a relationship?

  • On a community?

  • On our spirituality

Read Isaiah 40:27-31

  • What promises do you see here?

  • Based of this text, what qualifies God to keep these promises? (theologically?)

In order to trust the promises of God, we have to believe in two things. 1 — His ability to keep His promises (His Power). 2 — His desire to keep His promises (His heart).

  • In your own life, which of these can be a challenge? Why?

What does this passage say about God’s character? How does that contrast with what the world teaches? How does this affect our prayers?

  • Ex: The scripture says God is everlasting. The world teaches that God is limited. I often pray to God like He is limited.

Everyone write: Based on this message, what is a personal way in which God is working on you? How can we pray for each other?
